Jordon Ibe ‘excited’ to work under Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp
Liverpool forward Jordon Ibe says he is relishing the prospect of playing under Jurgen Klopp
Jordon Ibe says he can’t wait to play under new Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
The 48-year-old was introduced as the new Reds boss to the British media on Friday morning after he signed a three-year contract at Anfield on Thursday evening.
Klopp was widely praised for the way that he handled his first media conference as the Liverpool manager, insisting that he is the “normal one”.
And Reds forward Ibe, who burst onto the Liverpool scene under Klopp’s predecessor Brendan Rodgers, is excited to work with the former Borussia Dortmund head coach.
“I can’t wait to get back and start working with him now,” Ibe told Daily Mirror.
“I can only try and get better with the help he’s hopefully going to provide for me, and there’s a lot of other young players, so working around him should be great and also for the senior players in the squad.”
The 19-year-old has made eight appearances in the Premier League this season.
Ibe broke in the Liverpool first-team for their 1-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers at Anfield in their final games of Rodgers’s first season in May 2012.
The England Under-21 international could feature under Klopp for the first time when Liverpool take on Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane this Saturday.
