Jose Mourinho has accused sections of the British media of being “disrespectful” towards him following Chelsea’s stuttering start to the new season.

The Portuguese coach has found himself in the unusual position of being under pressure in recent weeks, with his Chelsea side struggling to find consistent form and slumping to four defeats from their opening nine Premier League games.

I treat you the same way your bosses treat me – no respect

Mourinho was alleged to have shoved a teenager on a west London street earlier this week after the boy attempted to film the coach on his mobile phone.

The Chelsea boss was clearly riled by the recent media coverage surrounding him at his news conference at Cobham on Friday afternoon.

Asked about visit of several South Africa rugby players to the Blues’ Cobham training base, a prickly Mourinho replied: “You are not going to get any funny headlines out of me.

“I treat you the same way your bosses treat me – no respect. No respect.

“I am not speaking about football. Football I will expect every type of critic, even the stupid ones, [but] private life and stupid things that you bring to the light – I don’t like it, so we go to a different level of professional relations.”

Mourinho’s Chelsea side are gearing up for a Premier League trip to West Ham United on Saturday afternoon after their goalless draw with Dynamo Kyiv on Tuesday night.
