Jose Mourinho says Chelsea have lost their fear factor at Stamford Bridge.

Crystal Palace and Southampton have already won in west London this season, whilst Swansea City drew 2-2 with the defending Premier League champions on the opening day of the season.

I believe every team that comes to Stamford Bridge don’t fear us

Chelsea, who are 16th in the Premier League table, welcome Tim Sherwood’s struggling Aston Villa side to Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

And Mourinho, who signed a new four-year contract with Chelsea in the summer, admitted that their opponents don’t fear a trip to The Bridge due to his side’s current form.

“I have thought about it. It is normal,” Mourinho told his pre-match media conference on Friday afternoon.

“It is one thing to go to a stadium where you know there have been a huge amount of defeats for away team. It is normal if you got to a stadium where home team has won one in four that you feel confident.

“I believe every team that comes to Stamford Bridge don’t fear us.”

Chelsea are already 10 points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City after eight games of the season.

And the Blues manager Mourinho accepted that the west Londoners need three points against Sherwood’s outfit to start to climb up the table.

“Every game is a must-win game for different reasons,” Mourinho added.

“Obviously we know in a couple of months we will be a position where we normally have to be. The reality of the numbers are very cruel but objective. We need points.”
