Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wary of Tottenham threat
Jurgen Klopp assesses the threat posed by Tottenham Hotspur to his Liverpool side
Jurgen Klopp admits that his Liverpool side will need to be at their best if they want to get a result against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday.
The German is gearing up for his first taste of the English top flight since being appointed as Brendan Rodgers’ successor at Liverpool last week.
Liverpool head to White Hart Lane on Saturday lunchtime looking to return to winning ways after their 1-1 draw with Everton in their final game under Rodgers before the international break.
And Klopp admits that his side are set to come up against a well-oiled Spurs machine, who beat Manchester City 4-1 earlier in the season.
Klopp told a news conference at Melwood on Thursday afternoon: “We play against a very good Premier League team in Spurs. They are fine tuned.
“We know how they want to play. I know how I want to play.
“At the end it is only football. Now we have to open our chests, run and fight and shoot. We have to play like our best dream.”
Liverpool head into Saturday’s game in 10th place in the Premier League table and six points behind current leaders Manchester City.
Klopp was appointed as manager on a three-year contract last Thursday.
