Pat Nevin has tipped Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to sign three players in the January transfer window.

The Reds manager oversaw a goalless draw with Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane in his first game in charge of the Premier League side on Saturday afternoon.

Liverpool have already been linked with Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski and Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus following Klopp’s appointment earlier this month.

And Nevin, who played for Everton and Chelsea during his professional career, believes the 48-year-old will need to sign players more adept to playing in his desired system.

“He will have to rebuild about half the squad,” Nevin told Newstalk’s Off The Ball.

“I would expect he will do at least three of them in January.

“What he has to do between now and January is hold on. Try to keep within touching distance.”

Liverpool spent nearly £100m in the summer transfer window after Rodgers signed Christian Benteke and Roberto Firmino in big-money deals.

The Reds are nine points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City in tenth place in the table.
