Louis van Gaal delivers latest Man United injury update after Wolfsburg win
Louis van Gaal says Manchester United suffered no fresh injuries against Wolfsburg
Louis van Gaal has confirmed that Manchester United have no fresh injury concerns following Wednesday night’s Champions League win over Wolfsburg.
The Red Devils were without the likes of Michael Carrick and Ander Herrera for the European clash but the Red Devils boss has revealed that the game brought no new injury problems for his squad.
Quizzed about the injury situation after the game, Van Gaal said that his main concern was the fatigue of his players heading into Sunday’s clash with Arsenal at Emirates Stadium.
The Dutchman also pointed to the fact that the Gunners will have one extra day to recover ahead of Sunday’s Premier League showdown in north London.
Van Gaal told BT Sport: “No [new injuries], only tiredness. Also with Michael Carrick, more tiredness. We have to recover, recover, recover.
“Arsenal played yesterday, it’s one day more so they have a benefit. But OK, we shall manage.”
United went behind inside four minutes at Old Trafford when Daniel Caligiuri finished off a stylish six-pass move for the opener.
However, Mata drew the home side level when he confidently fired home his penalty in the 34th minute after Caligiuri handled the ball in the box.
