Memphis Depay has insisted that he is not affected by criticism following his slow start to life at Manchester United.

The Netherlands winger has failed to find consistent form since his big-money transfer to the Red Devils from PSV Eindhoven earlier this summer.

The 21-year-old has netted just one goal in eight Premier League games for Louis van Gaal’s men despite starting each of the Red Devils’ top flight matches this term.

Depay was substituted at half-time during Manchester United’s 3-0 loss to Arsenal at Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

However, the winger insists that he is paying no attention to his critics as he turns his attentions to international duty with Holland.

Depay told Voetbal Inside: “I just let the criticism slide off me. I’m not really paying attention to it.

“Only constructive criticism can do something for you. I just let the rest go. Everyone will have an opinion, but that is part of life.”

The Netherlands take on Kazakstan and the Czech Republic in their forthcoming Euro 2016 qualifier games, with Depay expected to feature in both.

United return to Premier League action with a trip to Goodison Park to face Everton on 17 October.
