Man United transfers: Barcelona deliver Neymar update
Barcelona vice-president Jordi Mestre says the La Liga side haven't discussed a new deal with Neymar
Neymar hasn’t entered into discussions with Barcelona over a new contract despite reported interest from Manchester United, the La Liga champions have confirmed.
The Brazilian was thought to be on the verge of agreeing a new lucrative contract with the Catalan side after the Red Devils had made enquiries over the striker in the summer.
However, Barcelona vice president Jordi Mestre revealed that the reigning Champions League holders haven’t opened talks with the South American over a new contract.
“We haven’t discussed anything with Neymar yet, neither is there anything official on the table, nor has there been any formal conversations,” Mestre told Mundo Deportivo.
The Barcelona forward has netted four times in six games in the Spanish top-flight this term.
Neymar has scored 31 goals in 55 La Liga appearances for Barcelona over the past two seasons.
