Man United transfers: David De Gea coy on contract release clause
David De Gea refuses to be drawn into discussing the details of his new Manchester United contract
David De Gea has refused to be drawn into discussing the details of his new Manchester United contract amid suggestions that the goalkeeper could move to Real Madrid in the future.
The Spanish shot-stopper signed a new contract with the Red Devils until 2019 in September after his proposed summer transfer to Real Madrid fell through due to the necessary paperwork not being submitted in time.
There have been suggestions that De Gea’s new contract contains a clause which would allow him to secure a transfer to Real Madrid at some point in the future.
However, the goalkeeper was in no mood to discuss the details of his new deal when quizzed about it while on international duty with Spain.
De Gea is quoted as saying by Goal: “You should ask [my agent] Jorge [Mendes] that question; he’s the one who pays attention to those details.”
The goalkeeper will be expecting to feature when United return to Premier League action with a trip to Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.
