Man United transfers: Mauricio Pochettino laughs off Harry Kane speculation
Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is concerned by reported Man United interest in Harry Kane
Mauricio Pochettino has laughed off speculation linking Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane with a move to Manchester United in January.
The reigning PFA young player of the year answered his critics in emphatic style with a treble in the north London side’s 5-1 victory over Bournemouth at Dean’s Court on Sunday.
The hat-trick was Kane’s first goals since his strike in a 5-2 victory over Premier League leaders Manchester City at White Hart Lane last month.
The Red Devil were linked with a £50m move for the England international in the summer, and United are reportedly ready to rekindle their interest in the PFA young player of the year.
However, Tottenham manager Pochettino rubbished talk of Kane completing a move to the 20-time English champions ahead of their clash against Aston Villa.
“I smile because the rumours are always there,” Pochettino told his pre-match media conference.
“The rumours are the rumours. Even now it is too early starting speaking about rumours but you know in football it is normal.”
Kane has scored four goals in 10 Premier League games this season.
The Spurs talisman netted 31 times in 51 games for the north London outfit last term.
