Man United transfers: Neymar discusses his future
Neymar says that he is planning to stay at Barcelona despite talk of a move to Manchester United
Neymar has dealt Manchester United a blow by revealing that he is keen on signing a new contract at Barcelona.
The Brazilian was heavily linked with a move to the Red Devils over the summer as he stalled on contract negotiations with the Catalan club.
United were reportedly ready to splash as much as £240m to bring Neymar to Old Trafford during the summer transfer window.
However, the player himself has now indicated that he is planning to stay at Camp Nou.
“I am very happy at Barca, and in Barcelona, where I have settled very well,” Neymar told Mundo Deportivo.
“I have three more years left on my contract, and my father looks after these things.
“Of course [I want to renew], but we’ll talk about that later
“My only concern at the moment is to be focused on helping the team and to keep winning trophies at Barca.”
The Barcelona forward has netted four times in six games in the Spanish top-flight this term.
Neymar has scored 31 goals in 55 La Liga appearances for Barcelona over the past two seasons.
The Brazil forward has won La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League since his move to the Catalan side from Santos in 2013.
Neymar, 23, has already netted 44 times in 65 Brazil appearances.
