Jose Mourinho says Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic won’t feature against Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.

The Serbia international picked up a hamstring injury on international duty which has ruled the right-back out of the clash against Tim Sherwood’s side on Saturday afternoon.

The Chelsea vice-captain has endured a forgettable start to the season after having made a number of high-profile mistakes which have cost the defending Premier League champions points.

Speaking at his pre-match media conference on Friday afternoon, Mourinho confirmed the experienced full-back won’t line up against Villa on Saturday.

“We have only the Ivanovic injury. Courtois is recovering. Everybody else is well,” Mourinho said.

The under-pressure Chelsea manager added that Cesar Azpilicueta, Kurt Zouma, Ramires and Ola Aina are all potential replacements for Ivanovic on Saturday.

“I have four solutuons,” Mourinho added.

“I have Azpilicueta, adaptation of Zouma or Ramires or I have Ola Aina. He is 18 and has never played a game in the Premier League but a boy with lots of potential.”

Chelsea are 16th place in the Premier League after a 3-1 defeat by Southampton in their most-recent clash before the international break.
