Paul Merson believes that Everton are set to hold Manchester United to a 1-1 draw in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils head to Goodison Park this weekend looking to bounce back from the disappointment of their 3-0 loss to Arsenal in their most recent top-flight outing before the international break.

United are currently third in the Premier League table and two points behind leaders Manchester City heading into the game on Merseyside.

And former Arsenal man Merson feels that Everton are more than capable of causing United to drop points at Goodison Park, but reckons the Red Devils are unlikely to lose the clash.

Merson told Sky Sports: “I can’t see Manchester United losing this.

“I think they’ll resemble South Africa in the rugby… they’ve been given a bit of a kick up the backside at Arsenal and I think they’ll come back and get a result.

“Everton are unbeaten in seven games in all competitions and I don’t see them faltering here either. A close game, but a score draw.”

Everton head into Saturday’s clash in seventh place in the Premier League table and three points behind Louis van Gaal’s United side.
