Petr Cech was in fine form as the goalkeeper helped Arsenal secure a famous 2-0 win over Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.

The 33-year-old goalkeeper made six saves to end the Bundesliga side’s goal-scoring run and secure Arsenal’s first clean sheet of the Champions League season.

France international Olivier Giroud came off the bench to break the deadlock in the 78th minute before Mesut Ozil sealed three points in added time at The Emirates.

But it was Cech who was voted Arsenal’s man of the match by the club’s supporters, much to the delight of the experienced Czech Republic international.

Cech joined Arsenal in an £11m deal from defending Premier League champions Chelsea in the summer transfer window after falling out-of-favour under Jose Mourinho.
