Philippe Coutinho issues Liverpool rallying cry ahead of Everton derby

The Liverpool midfielder takes to Twitter ahead of Merseyside derby

Philippe Coutinho has issued a Liverpool rallying cry ahead of their clash against Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds are looking to secure back-to-back wins for the first time since their 1-0 victory over Bournemouth with a trip to Merseyside rivals Everton on the schedule.

Liverpool have a good record against the Toffees in the past five years, winning four games and drawing six times with their derby rivals in the Premier League.

And Coutinho, who has been one of Liverpool’s more-consistent performers this term, took to Twitter to rally his team-mates ahead of their clash against Roberto Martinez’s side.

Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard took to his Instagram page early on Sunday morning in a bid to gee up his old team-mates for the Merseyside derby.

Gerrard wrote on the photo-sharing app: “Nothing better than derby day .. Let’s have it 😡💪👊⚽️”

Liverpool can hoist themselves above seventh-placed Everton and into the Premier League’s top six with victory at Goodison Park.
