Mathieu Flamini has taken to social media to wish Mesut Ozil a happy birthday after the Arsenal playmaker turned 27 on Thursday.

The Germany international returned to Arsenal to prepare for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Watford this week after helping his country qualify for Euro 2016.

And Flamini, who is a close friend of Ozil’s away from the pitch, used his personal Instagram account to send his best wishes to the former Real Madrid star on Thursday morning.

Flamini shared the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “Happy birthday to my friend @m10_official”

Both midfielders will be hoping to feature when Arsenal travel to Watford on Saturday evening. The Gunners head into the game in second place in the Premier League table, two points behind leaders Manchester City.

Arsene Wenger’s men were impressive 3-0 winners over Manchester United in their most recent Premier League outing, with goals from Alexis Sanchez and Ozil wrapping up the three points.
