Jack Wilshere snapped a selfie of his “family” on Instagram as the Arsenal midfielder edged closer to a return to action.

The England international is still sidelined following a knee injury in pre-season which has forced Wilshere to miss their opening 10 games of the Premier League campaign.

The 23-year-old was forced to undergo surgery on a hairline fracture in his left leg in August after a challenge in training the day before Arsenal’s Community Shield victory over Chelsea at Wembley.

Arsenal midfielder Wilshere posted a snap of his children Deliah and Archie with his friend Thomas Slater in his sports car.

Wilshere wrote: “The Fam 👊🏻❤️ @slaterthomas”

On his pal’s Instagram page, there was also a snap of Wilshere in his club colours presumably heading to The Emirates to watch their 2-1 victory over Everton.
