Bastian Schweinsteiger may have been disappointed with Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with CSKA Moscow, but the Germany midfielder still managed to break into a smile for a selfie with a supporter ahead of his flight back to England.

The World Cup winner lasted just 45 minutes of the Champions League clash in Russia on Wednesday night before United manager Louis van Gaal replaced Schweinsteiger with Marouane Fellaini after the half-time break.

The 31-year-old midfielder, who moved to United from Bayern Munich in a £6.7m deal in the summer transfer window, will be hoping to reclaim his starting spot for his first Manchester derby on Sunday afternoon.

And Schweinsteiger mingled with a United supporter in the Moscow airport as he posed for a selfie on Thursday morning, which United posted on their Instagram page.

The Red Devils posted on the photo-sharing app: “A selfie with @BastianSchweinsteiger at Moscow airport. #mufc ✈️”

Schweinsteiger has started all three Champions League group-stage games this season.
