Joao Teixeira has taken to Instagram to reflect on a “good debut” in a 1-0 victory over Bournemouth on Wednesday night.

The Portuguese playmaker produced a solid performance for Jurgen Klopp’s side in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup.

Teixeira played a role in Nathaniel Clyne’s winner after the 22-year-old’s brilliant back-heel attempt cleared off the line by Adam Smith before the Liverpool full-back finished from close range.

And the former Sporting Lisbon youth player, who had to recover from a broken leg last season, was pleased to make his Liverpool bow in a League Cup win at Anfield.

Teixeira wrote on his Instagram page: “Happy with my debut tonight with a win ⚽️🎩👌〽️”

Teixeira went on a season-long loan to Championship side Brighton and Hove Albion last season.

The Liverpool playmaker scored six times in 32 games for the second-tier side during his loan spell.
