Simon Mignolet has taken to Instagram to celebrate a special night for Belgium.

The Red Devils qualified for Euro 2016 as top seeds after a 3-1 win against Israel to secure first place ahead of Chris Coleman’s Wales side.

Belgium also moved to the top of the Fifa rankings thanks to their comfortable victory over the Euro 2016 qualifying opponents.

And Mignolet, who has been enjoying a run in the starting line-up in the absence of injured Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, was thrilled to help Belgium create a little bit of history.

Mignolet wrote on his Instagram page: “A good win means: qualification as winner of the group, among top seeds for the draw and last but not least #1 on the FIFA world ranking #goodnight #sweetdreams”

The Liverpool goalkeeper could make his first appearance under new manager Jurgen Klopp when the Reds face Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane in the Premier League on Saturday lunchtime.

Mignolet has been ever-present in the Liverpool side so far this season, although the Belgium shot stopper has kept just three clean sheets in eight games.
