Bastian Schweinsteiger has lifted the lid on his pre-match routine.

The Manchester United midfielder is one of the most-decorated and experienced players in the Premier League.

Schweinsteiger has won eight Bundesliga titles, the Champions League and the World Cup during a memorable career for club and country.

The Germany international helped United secure a battling goalless draw with Manchester City at Old Trafford in Sunday’s derby.

And United’s summer signing Schweinsteiger took to his Instagram to reveal one of his pre-match routines.

Schweinsteiger wrote on his Instagram page: “Sometimes before games, I just like to listen to my favorite music and put everything else on mute.”

Schweinsteiger’s most recent appearance came in their stalemate with City in Sunday’s Manchester derby.

There wasn’t a shot on target until the 82nd minute at Old Trafford, when Jesus Navas’s was effort saved by Manchester United keeper David De Gea.

Substitute Jesse Lingard hit the crossbar with a lofted effort moments later, before City goalkeeper Joe Hart tipped Chris Smalling’s shot around his near post.

United travel to Crystal Palace in the Premier League next weekend as they look to return to winning ways in the top flight.
