Bastian Schweinsteiger has taken to social media to send his best wishes to Mario Gotze after the Bayern Munich midfielder was ruled out of action for at least 10 weeks with a groin injury.

The World Cup winner suffered the problem in the first half of Germany’s 1-0 loss to the Republic of Ireland last week and is now set to be sidelined for a considerable spell.

Manchester United midfielder Schweinsteiger used his personal Instagram account to send a message of support to his team-mate after reflecting on Germany’s qualification for Euro 2016.

Schweinsteiger posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “After a tough EURO Qualifiers we were able to set everything for 2016. In this tournament Mario Götze will play an important role! Get well soon. @dfb_team”
