Victor Valdes has been enjoying some time away from Manchester United this weekend as the goalkeeper looks to stay positive despite his current situation at the club.

The Spaniard has found himself out of favour at the Old Trafford outfit after falling out with manager Louis van Gaal towards the end of last season.

Now, it appears that the shot-stopper has jumped at the chance of using the international break to retreat to warmer climes.

Valdes posted the picture above of a beach believed to be in Barcelona on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “There is nothing better to renew energies, to breathe good #clean air, than my dear #gavamar. The best beach in the world! Greetings to all.”

Valdes started just one first-team game for the Red Devils last season as Van Gaal’s men finished fourth in the Premier League table.

He is yet to feature this term and has been linked with a possible transfer to Chelsea in recent weeks.

Manchester United return to Premier League action with a trip to Everton after the international break.
