Marcos Rojo has taken to social media to pay tribute to his girlfriend Eugenia Lusardo and send his partner a Mother’s Day message.

Mother’s Day is celebrated on the third Sunday of October in Rojo’s Argentina and the Manchester United defender used his personal Instagram account to send a message to his girlfriend.

Rojo posted the series of snaps on the photo-sharing app on Sunday evening and wrote: “Happy Mother’s day to all the mothers who follow me, and especially these three mothers whom I love so much. I wish you the best always you deserve – you are excellent mothers and people. @eugelusardo Happy Mother’s day @carinaarellano1 and @nnoerojo”

Rojo notched up an assist for Ander Herrera as he played the full 90 minutes as Manchester United returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a 3-0 win at Everton on Saturday afternoon.
