Mario Balotelli is clearly close pals with Arsenal target Stephan El Shaarawy.

The Italy duo regularly posted snaps together during Balotelli’s initial spell at AC Milan before the 25-year-old striker moved to Liverpool last summer.

El Shaarawy, like Balotelli, has seen his once promising career stall in recent years and the midfielder was loaned out to Ligue 1 side Monaco in the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to Arsenal in the January transfer window as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his attacking options at The Emirates.

But Balotelli, who returned to Milan on loan from Liverpool in August, is hoping to be reunited with his Italian pal.

Balotelli wrote on his Instagram page: “greetings brother ! I’ll wait here forever you know”

El Shaarawy scored three times in 18 Sere A appearances last season.

The Italian midfielder burst onto the scene at San Siro three years ago after he netted 16 goals in 37 games in the 2012/13 campaign.
