Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to thank his fans for their support after he celebrated his 27th birthday on Thursday.

The Arsenal playmaker celebrated the milestone by blowing out the candles on his cake on Thursday afternoon.

Mathieu Flamini and Gabriel Paulista were among the Arsenal players to wish the former Real Madrid star a happy birthday on social media.

And Ozil used his personal Instagram account to thank his fans and followers for their wishes.

The 27-year-old posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “One year older yet again! 😉 Thank you all so much for your birthday messages! 🎂🎁🎉🎈Here’s to another great year…✌ #bestfansworldwide #thankyou #happyMesut #birthday”

Ozil will be hoping to feature when Arsenal travel to Watford on Saturday evening. The Gunners head into the game in second place in the Premier League table, two points behind leaders Manchester City.

Arsene Wenger’s men were impressive 3-0 winners over Manchester United in their most recent Premier League outing, with goals from Alexis Sanchez and Ozil wrapping up the three points.
