Simon Mignolet has taken to Instagram to pay tribute to Liverpool’s players and fans after the Reds were held to a goalless draw by Tottenham Hotspur in Jurgen Klopp’s first game in charge of the club.

Klopp, who was appointed as Brendan Rodgers’ successor at White Hart Lane earlier this month, watched his side dominate the opening exchanges but fail to make the crucial breakthrough in north London.

Divock Origi was handed his first Premier League start up front in the absences of Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings – and the striker hit the bar with a first-half header.

Tottenham’s best efforts came when substitute Clinton N’Jie and Harry Kane tested Mignolet, however the game ended up all square.

Mignolet appeared to be relatively satisfied with the result as the Reds were forced to settle for a point in the capital.

The goalkeeper posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “A lot of hard work by everyone both players and fans! #awaysupport #YNWA”
