Piers Morgan has once again hit out at Arsene Wenger for failing to sign any outfield players during the summer transfer window after Arsenal were dumped out of the League Cup by Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night.

Wenger opted to field a blend of youth and experience but his side were comprehensively beaten at Hillsborough and also lost Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain due to injuries.

The Arsenal boss raised eyebrows with his decision not to bring in any outfield players during the summer, instead opting only to sign Petr Cech from Chelsea.

Celebrity fan and Arsenal shareholder Morgan clearly feels that Wenger should have bolstered his squad further while he had the chance last summer.

Morgan tweeted:

Arsenal return to Premier League action this weekend when they take on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners are currently second in the table and level on points with leaders Manchester City.
