Radamel Falcao is backing Chelsea to bounce back from their stuttering start to the season after the international break.

The Blues have endured a disastrous opening few weeks of the new campaign and suffered their fifth defeat of the season as they slumped to a 3-1 loss to Southampton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

That result left Jose Mourinho’s men a staggering 10 points behind leaders Manchester City, with the west London club’s title defence in tatters.

However, Falcao – who joined Chelsea on loan from Monaco over the summer – is confident that the Blues have enough quality at their disposal to rectify the situation.

Falcao is quoted as saying by Goal: “I’m OK. Growing up, every day I feel better

“If the results are not the best in Chelsea, we have the capacity to reverse the situation.”

Chelsea issued a statement backing manager Mourinho on Monday afternoon but admitted that results must improve in the coming weeks.

Falcao has so far scored just one goal for Chelsea this season, despite making eight appearances for the Blues since his arrival at Stamford Bridge.
