Thierry Henry has singled out Alexis Sanchez as the main man in helping to end Arsenal’s wait for the Premier League title.

The Chile international has enjoyed a stunning start to the new season for the Gunners, helping Arsene Wenger’s men up to second place in the table and level on points with leaders Manchester City.

Sanchez has already notched up six Premier League goals for the north London side, scoring seven times in his last six games in all competitions for the Gunners.

And former striker Henry, who was part of the last Arsenal side to win the title back in the 2003-04 campaign, feels that Sanchez has already established himself as the key player to help drive the Gunners’ title bid this term.

Henry told Sky Sports: “I’ve said it so many times, but he’s vital for Arsenal. If he stays injury-free and shows the desire and the commitment that he has for Arsenal Football Club in the way he plays then Arsenal have every chance of winning the title, but you need to keep that guy fit.

“If he’s fit I think Arsenal have a chance of winning the Premier League. He is that “extra” type of guy that when you’re in trouble he’ll make sure you win the game. I don’t want to copy a show on another channel, but he is the ‘X-factor’!”

Sanchez will be expecting to feature when Arsenal travel to Swansea City in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon after being rested for the midweek League Cup clash against Sheffield Wednesday.
