Jose Mourinho’s side slumped to their sixth defeat of the Premier League season after West Ham United edged to a 2-1 victory over 10-man Chelsea at Upton Park.

England international Andy Carroll scored a 77th minute after Gary Cahill had cancelled out Mauro Zarate’s first-half opener in east London on Saturday afternoon.

Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic was dismissed before half-time after a second yellow card, before Jose Mouinho was sent to the stands at the start of the second half.
