Wayne Rooney scored his first away goal for 11 months as Manchester United secured a convincing 3-0 win over Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Red Devils, looking to bounce back from their 3-0 loss to Arsenal before the international break, went ahead in the 19th minute when Morgan Schneiderlin slotted home his first goal for United at Goodison Park.

Ander Herrera then made it 2-0 just three minutes later when he headed home Marcos Rojo’s cross from the penalty spot.

And Rooney, whose form had been questioned in recent weeks, netted against his former club in the 62nd minute with a low finish to send United up to second place in the Premier League table.

Did you know?

Wayne Rooney is now level with Andrew Cole on 187 Premier League goals – only Alan Shearer has more.
