Thibaut Courtois has handed Chelsea a timely boost following the Blues’ stuttering form, as the goalkeeper steps up his recovery from knee surgery.

The 23-year-old has been out of action since September after going under the knife to correct knee ligament damage.

The Belgium international has been sorely missed by the Blues, with Jose Mourinho’s men having lost eight of their 16 games in all competitions this season.

Courtois, who has been posting pictures and videos of his return to full fitness on his personal Instagram account in recent weeks, will have been watching as Chelsea were dumped out of the League Cup by Stoke City on penalties on Tuesday night.

However, the goalkeeper looks to be keeping himself in good spirits as he continues his rehabilitation.

Courtois posted the video above on his Instagram account last week and wrote: “I finished today’s rehabilitation session with some good ball exercises! #CFC”
