Watch: Thibaut Courtois hands Chelsea another boost ahead of Liverpool clash
Thibaut Courtois is back running outdoors as he closes in on a comeback for Chelsea
Chelsea have undoubtedly been missing Thibaut Courtois in goal in recent weeks following their stuttering start to the season.
However, the goalkeeper is now closing in on a return to action from a knee injury – and stepped up his rehabilitation by running outdoors for the first time this week since undergoing knee surgery earlier in the season.
Courtois posted the video above of himself jogging around Chelsea’s Cobham training ground as he continues his recovery.
He uploaded the video onto his personal Instagram account on Wednesday and wrote: “Happy to be running again 💪 #CFC”
Courtois was initially ruled out of a period of around three months in early September, meaning that he could be back available again for the hectic festive period if his rehabilitation goes to plan.
Chelsea, who have lost eight of their 16 games in all competitions this season, return to Premier League action with a clash against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Saturday lunchtime.
