Thierry Henry is shocked to hear Brendan Rodgers has been sacked

Thierry Henry provided Liverpool supporters with some light relief after Liverpool sacked Brendan Rodgers on Sunday evening.

The Arsenal legend clearly wasn’t in-the-know about the Northern Irishman’s imminent sacking after his tactile reaction to the breaking news report.

In the above clip, Henry reached over to comfort his fellow panelist and former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher, who had his best poker face on.

The Champions League winner went on to give his thoughts on his former manager’s sacking after a 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.

Rodgers was appointed as Liverpool manager in May 2012 after Reds legend Kenny Dalglish left the Merseyside outfit.

The 43-year-old, who had led Swansea City into the Premier League for the first time in 2011, guided Liverpool to just one top-four finish in three seasons.

The Northern Irishman spent over £250m on new players during his three-and-a-bit year stay at Anfield, including £32.5m signing of Christian Benteke this summer.

Liverpool are currently in 10th place in the Premier League table and three points behind fourth-placed Crystal Palace.
