Alan Shearer has taken to social media to reveal his concern that Harry Kane could better his Premier League goal-scoring record.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker has been in fine form so far this season and scored twice as the north London side routed West Ham United 4-1 at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.

Kane now has 32 Premier League goals to his name, and former England international Shearer could not hide his concern that the Spurs forward could better his record tally of top-flight strikes.

Shearer tweeted:

Kane was voted the PFA young player of the year last season after a stellar campaign for Spurs.

Sunday’s win left Spurs in fifth place in the Premier League table and just two points behind their bitter local rivals Arsenal, who are currently fourth.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon when they host defending champions Chelsea at White Hart Lane.
