Andy Gray tips Chelsea to deny ‘ambitious’ Tottenham victory
Andy Gray believes Chelsea will draw with Tottenham Hotspur in Sunday's London derby
Andy Gray believes Chelsea will secure a point against “ambitious” Tottenham Hotspur in Sunday’s London derby at White Hart Lane.
The Blues were emphatic 4-0 winners against Maccabi Tel-Aviv in the Champions League in Israel on Tuesday night.
Chelsea can secure three successive victories for the first time this season after a disappointing start to the defence of their Premier League crown.
Spurs equalled a club record after going 12 games unbeaten in the Premier League since a 1-0 loss to Manchester United on the opening day of the season.
Former Everton and Aston Villa forward Gray believes Jose Mourinho’s side will manage to peg back the north Londoners in Sunday’s early kick-off.
“This Tottenham side are made of good stuff now, they’re a young, ambitious side and we’re seeing that in their results,” Gray wrote in Paddy Power’s blog.
“Chelsea are getting better and had a confidence boosting win mid-week in Europe.
“It’s a tough game to call but I think it will be entertaining and could see a 2-2 draw.”
Tottenham eased to a 1-0 win against Qarabag in the Europa League in Azerbaijan on Thursday night.
Spurs have won their last three Premier League games, with Harry Kane netted seven times in four top-flight outings.
