Andy Gray: Why Arsenal have too much firepower for Tottenham
Andy Gray believes Arsenal really want Premier League title and will beat rivals Tottenham Hotspur
Arsenal will have too much firepower for Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby on Sunday, according to Andy Gray.
The Gunners suffered a humiliating 5-1 defeat by Bundesliga holders Bayern Munich in the Champions League at Allianz Arena on Wednesday night.
Tottenham, meanwhile, were 2-1 winners against Belgian side Anderlecht in the Europa League thanks to Mousa Dembele’s 87th-minute winner on Thursday.
Although Harry Kane has scored five times in his last three games, Gray believes Arsenal will pose a greater attacking threat in the shape of Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez at The Emirates.
“I think Arsenal want this title. They stared well enough to suggest that they will be in the shake up to the very end,” Gray told Paddy Power’s blog.
“Spurs have only lost once this season, but Arsenal at home is just going to sway it for me. I think they just have too much firepower at the top of the pitch for Spurs and I can see a 2-1 victory.”
Gray added: “Giroud is in really good form. With Theo Walcott injured then Giroud is probably going to start. At home I would always go for Alexis Sanchez. He’s worth a fiver of anyone’s money.”
Arsenal have won their last five Premier League games thanks to victories over Leicester City, Manchester United, Watford, Everton and Swansea City.
Tottenham are unbeaten in 10 Premier League outings since a 1-0 defeat by Manchester United at Old Trafford on the opening day of the Premier League season.
The Gunners have already beaten Tottenham this season after a 2-1 victory in the League Cup third round at White Hart Lane.
