Andy Gray believes Chelsea will continue their Premier League woes and drop more points at Stoke City on Saturday evening.

The west London side travel to the Britannia Stadium looking for their first three points since a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge on 17 October.

The midweek win should help Chelsea. If that win doesn’t pick them up nothing will

The defending Premier League champions have suffered back-to-back top-flight defeats following losses to London rivals West Ham United and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

The Blues made a return to winning ways in the Champions League night on Wednesday night thanks to 2-1 victory over Dynamo Kyiv in west London.

However, former Aston Villa and Everton forward Gray reckons Mark Hughes’s Stoke City side will deny Chelsea a much-needed three points on Saturday afternoon.

“The way Chelsea are playing and the way the mindset will be you’ll get odds against Chelsea away from home especially against a Stoke side that are pretty good at home,” Gray wrote in his Paddy Power blog.

“If it was any other season I would say a narrow 1-0 or 2-1 away win. They knew how to get the job done. Now I think Stoke will want to get something from this one. They might feel they can win. The midweek win should help Chelsea. If that win doesn’t pick them up nothing will.

“I’m going for the same scoreline as the draw in the cup earlier in the season a 1-1. Jonathan Walters is always a good bet. He takes the penalties and he starts. If he goes with Diouf up front he knows how to score. You’ll have to wait and see what sort of team Mark Hughes picks.”

Chelsea have already lost at The Britannia this season after the Potters edged to a 5-4 penalty shootout victory over Mourinho’s men in the League Cup fourth round.
