Andy Murray responds to David Lloyd criticism ahead of Davis Cup final
Andy Murray responds to criticism from David Lloyd by stepping up his preparations for the Davis Cup final
Andy Murray has put his head down to focus on working hard in the build-up to this weekend’s Davis Cup final following criticism from former Great Britain captain David Lloyd.
Lloyd, who played in Britain’s last Davis Cup final in 1978, recently accused Murray of not doing enough to promote the growth of tennis in Britain.
However, the Scot appeared to be taking no notice of Lloyd’s comments as he and his team-mates prepare for the final against Belgium in Ghent.
Murray posted the video above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “Back to work today… 2 and half hours on court and a versa climber session at home…
“Thanks for all the messages of support on social media today and for seeing today’s criticism for exactly what it was #bitter #backthebrits”
Great Britain’s Davis Cup team, including Murray, arrived in Belgium on Monday amid heightened security for this weekend’s final.
