Anthony Martial has taken to social media to pay tribute to the supporters who were at Wembley on Tuesday night to see France’s 2-0 international friendly loss to England.

The Manchester United forward played 67 minutes in north London as goals from Dele Alli and Wayne Rooney wrapped up victory for the hosts on an emotional night.

More than 70,000 supported honoured the victims of the Paris attacks as fans united to sing the French national anthem in front of the Duke of Cambridge and Prime Minister David Cameron.

There was also a perfectly-observed minute’s silence, with both sets of players standing together in the centre circle.

And Martial used his personal Instagram account to pay tribute to the supporters who were at the ground.

He uploaded the picture above onto the photo-sharing app and wrote: “We lost tonight but I want to thank all the fans who was at the stadium 🙏🏾”
