Anthony Martial sends Twitter message to Memphis Depay after Man United goal

Anthony Martial reveals his delight on Twitter as Memphis Depay hands Manchester United the lead against Watford

Anthony Martial was keeping a close eye on proceedings as Manchester United took on Watford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Memphis Depay handed the Red Devils the lead in the 11th minute when the Dutchman volleyed home Ander Herrera’s cross to mark his return to the starting line-up with a goal.

Martial is currently sidelined with a foot injury picked up while on international duty with France last week.

However, the France international was cheering his team-mates on from the comfort of his own home, and tweeted his delight at seeing Depay break the deadlock at Vicarage Road.

Martial tweeted:

Martial has been one of United’s standout performers since arriving at club from Monaco during the summer transfer window.

The 19-year-old striker announced himself to the Red Devils faithful with a stunning goal on his Old Trafford debut to help United secure a 3-1 win over Liverpool back in September.
