Piers Morgan could not help but aim a dig at Cesc Fabregas after the Spaniard could not prevent Chelsea from slipping to a 1-0 defeat by Stoke City on Saturday evening.

Fabregas was a second-half substitute at the Britannia Stadium but was unable to help the Blues conjure an equaliser as they slumped to their seventh league defeat of the season.

With Jose Mourinho absent as he served his one-game stadium ban, Marko Arnautovic fired home acrobatically in the 53rd minute to give the home side the lead.

Arsenal shareholder and celebrity fan Morgan was quick to take to Twitter to poke fun at the 28-year-old midfielder after the game.

Morgan tweeted:

The result left Chelsea in 16th place in the Premier League table and just three points above the relegation zone and heaped yet more pressure on manager Mourinho.

Chelsea’s next game is a home clash with Norwich City on 21 November.
