Arsenal man to make big decision about his future next summer
Wojciech Szczesny says he will decide where his long-term future lies after Euro 2016 next summer
Wojciech Szczesny has revealed that he will make a decision about his future at Arsenal after Euro 2016 next summer.
The Polish goalkeeper is currently on loan to Serie A side Roma after being deemed surplus to requirements at Emirates Stadium this season by manager Arsene Wenger following the summer arrival of Petr Cech from Chelsea.
Szczesny has been a regular fixture in Roma’s first team this season and has already notched up nine Serie A appearances for the Italian club, as well as featuring four times in the Champions League.
There have been suggestions that the goalkeeper could make his move to the Italian capital permanent next summer.
However, the player himself insists that he will not make a decision about his future until after next summer’s Euro 2016 tournament in France.
Szczesny told Przeglad Sportowy: “I will take a decision after the European Championship.
“I love Arsenal, but at Roma I feel fine. I have the confidence of the coach, my team-mates and the fans.
“After the European Championship I will decide what to do. Coming to Roma was the best choice.
“It was better to be a leader with the Italian runners-up than be on the bench in England.”
Roma currently sit third in the Serie A table, with 26 points from their opening 12 games.
