Arsenal transfers: Joel Campbell’s agent delivers update on his future

Joel Campbell's agent says that the striker wants to stay at Arsenal and fight for a regular first-team spot

Joel Campbell has no intention of leaving Arsenal and ready to fight for his first-team spot at Emirates Stadium, the forward’s agent has revealed.

The Costa Rica international has been linked with a possible transfer away from the club in recent months due to his lack of playing time for Arsene Wenger’s side.

However, Arsenal’s current injury crisis has presented an opportunity for Campbell to prove himself in the Gunners’ first team, and the forward netted his first Premier League goal for the club during last weekend’s 3-0 win over Swansea City.

He also started Wednesday night’s 5-1 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Now, the player’s agent has insisted that Campbell is happy to stay at Arsenal and fight for a regular first-team spot at Emirates Stadium.

Campbell’s agent Joaquim Batica told Metro: “Joel wants to be successful with Arsenal and wants to stay.

“He was very happy after scoring his first Premier League goal. He just wants to be successful and win trophies for Arsenal.

“That’s all he focused on.”
