Jorginho’s agent has remained coy when quizzed about the possibility of his client leaving Napoli amid reported interest from Arsenal.

Recent reports in the British media claimed the north London had sent scouts to watch the 23-year-old in action for Napoli ahead of a potential January swoop for the 23-year-old.

However, the player’s agent appears to have played down talk of a potential transfer away in the coming weeks by saying that any decision about his client’s future ultimately rests with Napoli.

Asked about potential bids from Premier League teams in the January transfer window, Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli: “This is a question for [Napoli sporting director Cristiano] Guintoli, not me.

“Certainly he is doing well, so it is normal that he will attract the interest of the big teams. But I do not know if Napoli are planning to enter into negotiations.

“If there are teams that are following him then that is obviously because they think that Jorginho would be helpful to their cause.”

The Brazilian born Jorginho is under contract at Napoli until the summer of 2018.

Arsenal return to Premier League action with a trip to West Bromwich Albion in the top flight on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners are currently second in the table and level on points with leaders Manchester City.
