Arsenal transfers: Michy Batshuayi worth £35m, insist Marseille
Marseille president Vincent Labrune says Arsenal target Michy Batshuayi is worth in the region of £35m
Arsenal target Michy Batshuayi is worth around £35m, according to Marseille president Vincent Labrune.
The 22-year-old is the Ligue 1 side’s top-scorer this season with eight goals in 13 top-flight games.
Unsurprisingly, the Belgium striker has been linked with a move to the Premier League amid reported interest from the Gunners and defending champions Chelsea.
However, Marseille president Labrune described the l’OM striker as one of the most-wanted players in Europe ahead of the January transfer window.
“There is not a single top-15 world club that is not interested in Batshuayi,” Labrune is quoted as saying by Talksport.
“He is one of the most wanted players on the market. There were a lot of offers for him this summer, but he did not want to leave.
“He is proving himself on the pitch. And if clubs want him then they are going to have to pay up. Around €50m!”
Batshuayi has scored nine goals and made three assists in 16 games in all competitions for Marseille.
The promising striker has also scored one goal in one game of the Belgium national team after he made a scoring debut against Cyprus in September after he replaced Liverpool striker Christian Benteke.
Batshuayi, who was also eligible to join DR Congo but opted to represent Belgium, joined Marseille from Belgian side Standard Liege in 2014.
