Arsene Wenger: Why I’m not interested in Tottenham’s Harry Kane

Arsene Wenger insists that he would never try and sign Harry Kane from Tottenham for Arsenal

Arsene Wenger has insisted that he would never try to bring Harry Kane to Arsenal from Tottenham Hotspur.

The striker has earned himself the reputation as one of Europe’s top forwards in recent months and was named as the PFA young player of the year last season.

The 22-year-old forward has scored five goals in 11 Premier League games for Tottenham so far this season heading into Sunday’s north London derby clash with Arsenal at Emirates Stadium.

However, Wenger despite admitting that Kane has all the ingredients needed to become a top player, the Frenchman says that he has no interest in signing him.

Wenger told a news conference at Arsenal’s London Colney training ground on Friday morning: “He has great qualities and he will make a great career.

“Once a player is at Spurs you don’t even consider him any more.”

Arsenal head into Sunday’s game in second place in the Premier League table and level on points with leaders Manchester City. Spurs are currently fifth in the table and five points off top spot.
