Ashley Young fires warning at Man United over Watford clash

Ashley Young warns Manchester United that they can ill afford to underestimate Watford ahead of Saturday's clash

Ashley Young has warned Manchester United that they will have to be at their best if they are to claim three points against Watford on Saturday lunchtime.

The Red Devils head to Vicarage Road looking to secure another victory after their 2-0 triumph over West Bromwich Albion before the international break.

The victory over the Baggies left Louis van Gaal’s men in fourth place in the Premier League table and two points behind leaders Manchester City after 12 games.

And Young has warned his team-mates that they can ill afford to underestimate the threat posed by Watford ahead of Saturday’s Premier League showdown.

Young told United’s website: “It won’t be an easy match.

“A lot of people wrote them off at the start of the season but they’re a team that works hard and gets players on the ball, and they score goals.

“They’ve been in good form recently but hopefully we can go there and get the three points.”

The 30-year-old has made eight Premier League appearances for United so far this season and has notched up one assist, but is yet to score.

Former Watford man Young came through the Hornets’ academy and eventually helped them achieve promotion to the Premier League in 2006.
