Laurent Depoitre has admitted that it would be “incredible” to play in the Premier League after being linked with a possible January transfer to Tottenham Hotspur.

The north London side have been heavily linked with a big-money swoop for the Gent forward in recent days as Mauricio Pochettino looks to bolster his attacking options at White Hart Lane.

Depoitre has caught the eye in recent weeks by scoring six goals for Gent so far this season.

Now, after seeing himself linked with a potential transfer to Spurs in the coming weeks, the 26-year-old has admitted that he would love to test himself in the Premier League.

Depoitre told “The Premier League is what I like the most. To play in such a big league would be incredible.

“But I don’t dream of a move, not even when I read in the newspapers that Tottenham are interested in me. As long as there is nothing concrete, I do my best for Gent and see what happens.”

Tottenham are currently fifth in the Premier League table after their 1-1 draw with Arsenal in last weekend’s north London derby.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men return to Premier League action with a home clash against London rivals West Ham United on Sunday 22 November.
